The governing body of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is the government agency responsible for the development and management of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ). Established in 1992 after the departure of the US military from Subic Bay Naval Base, the SBMA has successfully transformed the area into one of the Philippines' most successful economic zones.

SBMA's mandate includes the administration, operation, and development of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone as a self-sustaining industrial, commercial, financial, and investment center.
